I love the 044/440s, and my 10 mm 044 is likely a bit lighter, but the new 400 and 462 are lighter yet, smoother and have the clean air filter tech. In addition, you no longer need to carry a little screwdriver.

So, while I will never sell my 10mm 044 (I've had it since new in 12/92), when it comes to getting work done, I usually break out my two ported 462s.

It took 30 years for anyone to come out with a lighter/more powerful saw than the 044/440, but it has finally happened.

Those bars aren't available in the USA. I have had good luck running 8 pins on ported 50 cc saws with .325 chain. Is that ash? All of our ash trees are being killed by an invasive bug

I think it could do with an 8 pin on it. I’m going to order one for the customer. Pretty sure the chain will need an extra link.

It is ash. Same thing happening over here. There’s ash die back everywhere. I have one in my back garden that needs to come down because of it. It’s not good. Will be a lot of work soon for ash removals.
