Runs good for a 461MS461 with just a muffler mod, Hyway pop up piston and the timing advanced. I forgot to trim the limiters so it's tuned as rich as I can get it.
Thanks. I was hoping it would do better than my 440 hybrid but the hybrid is faster through that same piece of wood. After I finish up some stuff around the house, I'm going to do some light porting and see if it can do a little better.Runs good for a 461
The hybrid is ported. I only ran it for that one cut and will remove them before I go at it again, I also have a 68 jet and will go ahead and put that in while I'm at it.Ronnie, I would remove those limiters ASAP. 461s are known to run hot, and with a muff mod + timing advance you should richen it up. Usually, the Hi is open all the way on a stock saw.
The whole purpose for that "saddle" near the connecting rod is to divert the charge to cool the cylinder. There is not much wiggle room before they burn up.
Other than that, it runs nice, especially for an unported saw. I presume your Hybrid is ported?
Those hybrid’s really run like a ported 372 for sureThanks. I was hoping it would do better than my 440 hybrid but the hybrid is faster through that same piece of wood. After I finish up some stuff around the house, I'm going to do some light porting and see if it can do a little better.
Thanks Mason you nailed it! Now if I can just make a good chain for it!Looks strong, seems like it has good throttle response too
Higher…..as in more swipes or less swipes? Can’t really tell if you’re pushing it or holding up on it.Tried the WCS depth plate. Think I’ll try the next higher setting.
