I found gutting the tank vent gives them more “breathing room” for fuel too. Learned it from @Mastermind

Cool. Not tried that before. I’ll give it a go. I have a mark 2 550 to do, that’s my own saw. Might try it on that.

How much do you gut them? Just remove all the internal?

I take the vent off the saw (it pulls off with pliers easily after the rubber line is taken off) and from the long end I push out the guts with a wire (or any long thin piece of metal that fits in the hole will work). I remove the white piece and the rubber piece. I reinstall the two sintered filters (large silver one and the small copper one). I reinstall it with a little dirko around the outside sealing area. B974D321-EBE5-4474-90C3-9D64B41D7ECE.jpeg I find it makes a difference on a ported 572, the stock vent seems to choke it in my experiences. A stock or muffler modded saw I would just leave it alone.

Nice one, I’ll try it. You done it on any other auto tunes or just the 572?

357xp. The wind messes with the mic on the phone so it sounds a bit weird. Also four strokes a bit in the cut but if I leaned it out it’s max revs were 16400 I’m not ok with that [emoji23]

Yeah I’m thinking about getting a square grinder. No one doing it over here yet. That’s just Stihl RS straight out the box. It’s only done a few cuts.
