that one is one i picked up for pretty cheap it had a new top end put on it by a husky dealer i only started it to see if it actuall ran.....then it went to the saw doctor i sent him a new hda198 as well since it had a zama on it. the best part was it was still clean from the work the previous owner had done to it. i didn't have to clean it first....

I’d like to see it once it has a few tanks through it. It was getting better the more I cut with it. I like how these autotunes adapt after the port work.

Definitely scoots right along. Holds RPMs well.

It was revving a bit high when I first got it back together. Had to adjust the carb. The needle lever was flush as it should be but I raised it just a hair. Gives it a wee bit more fuel. I’ve found this works quite well on these, If needed.

I found gutting the tank vent gives them more “breathing room” for fuel too. Learned it from @Mastermind

Did you play with the strato ports?

No I left them alone. It didn’t get much grinding after machining. Raised the transfers slightly, widened the exhaust and adjusted the intake by grinding the piston rather than the port. Tidied up some casting marks.
