There is more to absolute all out power in a timed cut though imo. I would probably choose a 066/660 over a 394 for certain things and a 394 over a 066/660 for certain things. Oh and a 395 over either one of them. Personal preference. Lol

The 394 would take the W there. Maybe someday I'll build another 394 and run the 288 against it to see how far off it would be.
Just put the 395 head on the 288 silly… u know you can do it. Probably beat em all. At least till something breaks. Lol

394 vs 660. 24” 8t test. Wouldn’t notice any difference in this size wood with 7t. The 394 is absolutely faster cutting. However when I pull hard on both the 660 having 60+psi more compression doesn’t care a bit. Hardly a scientific test at all. But I wanted to see if the old 394 could still have its sporty nature ported and only 145psi. It’s over square bore/stroke sure likes to rev with some good port timing. Having said all that if I were felling with a long bar I’d grab the 660 for sure I did some testing stopped in the cut and starting back up and it didn’t care at all. Bot saws run great.

Yup, pretty much what I found, except my 066 pulls a few more rpms.
I also like .404 chain on the 394xp it just seems to eat wood with that set up.
Ill have to run my Super1050a Homelite with them some time it has a 36" with .404 and an 8 pin.

Sure is fun to play with different things. I may try 404. I never used it
