I don't see how a 390 will be faster than a 394 with a 32" 404 and a 8pin.

Same bar and chain In the same wood I don't think it's possible for a woods ported 390 to beat either of these with that setup.
With a smaller bar maybe.
Im guessing but I figure the 394 is turning 12k in the wood with that setup and a good full comp chain with a giant 404 8pin sprocket and I don't see a smaller saw doing that, the hybrid is doing the same.
I'd love to run the 390 someday or even see a video of it.
I understand what you are saying and your feelings towards it. But I have seen the same 390 destroy a saw that it was not suppose to come close too.
As far as a video goes we will get one. And let everyone see.

I believe that the 390 had a sharp full comp chain on it and the other saw had a dull full skip chain on it so I bet it did destroy it even though I heard it was still close. How much faster does the other saw have to be to still be close handicapped by the chain?

Comparing saws with different chains only compares the chain.

No it wasn't the same bar and chain, the 390 was running a 28 with a rs full comp. The other was running a 25 404 half skip. Square ground wich made the 390 even more impressive. Shouldn't have been a comparison.

We'll I guess it mite have been dull coming out of the box.. but the chips were still flying and yes it was close as long as you didn't lean on it. When leaned on it simply tapped out. I will get a video of same saw chain and bar. And let you be the judge.

At 14.7 it's to lean to have any tourqe.
It won't run a 25" 404 skip chain?
At 13.5k it will destroy a 50" 404 full comp
That is sharp. How can it do this but not run a skip 25"? Tune is terrible or its blew up. You sold it so there's no chance of comparing the 2.
