That looks like some good solid timber you got going on there too Jay...... Saws run great!

That Awol 562....... I think I will start saving up!
Red oak which is the softest of oaks here but that one was standing dead and is dry and hard as a rock.
It's hard enough it's hard to load a saw in but I'm thankful to have it.

Jason, I will agree with you completely with the 046/460 cylinders, except that I think the 046-D cylinders were a little more consistent in starting with good port timing, and the bump of about 10 psi does not hurt.

I know Dr Al really liked the looks of the non D cylinder I have that is currently not in use.

On saws smaller than 90 cc, I'm surprised you would use more than a 7 pin for anything but cookie cutting. I've got 7 pin on all my ported 046/460s, gives them more torque.

I always use a 7pin for work Unless I'm working with my 066 or a saw like this 661 or Al's hybrid, they turn to fast in the wood for a 7pin.
I much prefer a 7pin,it makes the saw more usable and it's easier on the operator.

I tried a 7 on my 661 and honestly I have been much happier with the 8 pin.

7 did give it some grunt but the 8 would load the saw better IMO

If I was heavy handed I would prefer the 7 but with light to medium pressure I like the8
