My 562 hung a piston.... yes piston and not the ring.

I bought the saw like this. It was straight gassed I think and stuck the ring in the groove letting the piston rock just enough to catch. There is a small hunk this size that came off the piston crown too. There is a really nasty lip around the ports. I can see why it hung. But will be an easy fix

My and deets 562 came from the same place,mine was also gassed and the piston is smoked but still runs good. Just a muffler mod is all it has here.

This 562 Mike Shetley @rattler ported it. I don't have the pictures any more but man it's a whole different animal. Mike Lee did the machine work for us.

Well...

Metal air filters rule. I've never had a metal filter lose rpm.

Fwiw, to change from an early metal filter to a late 026/MS260 filter requires a different tank vent, a different carburetor, and a different rear cover.

This is @zeebee413 026. It lost 1000 rpm with the modified nylon airfilter. I repeated the test and it's true. But does it cut quicker?

This was the jug you saw in the NWP thread. It's 4 stroking at 16200. 220 psi compression.

All of the saws that Al doctors are stout! I've got both an 026 and a 460 that have been doctored!

I noodled another round just like that one, and held my tach on top of the saw, and it was holding 10.5 to 10.6k in the cut. She's a runner for sure.....
