My first try at making a race chain. Feels like I made some good progress
Run on a stock 044
Stock exl chain...average cut 3.4 seconds or so
To this.....average cut...1.95 seconds or so...

I have not done that. Sounds like a great idea.Looking good Frank. Have you tried the Sharpie trick yet? (Coloring the teeth and chain chassis with a sharpie and then seeing what areas rub off).

I thought belt sanders were just for cutting cylinder bases?It helps a lot. I used to do it on my long timber falling chains. I used to take the rivets down a little on the 8" bench grinder and then smooth them
out on the Jet belt sander.
