I like to make these. I leave one side open so they will stack together. They are 38-1/2" tall and will hold a lot of weight.
If you zoom in, I wrote the dimensions on them. It takes 7 8ft 2x4s to build a pair. I never used to double the top plate, but some people don't know how to set the saw depth. They work fine either way. Make sure to countersink the top plate screws.
