On a saw with a large bore, I think too much compression starts fighting back.
I've wondered this.
Wouldn't setting the firing time closer to the tdc dwelling point take full advantage of the high comp with no fighting? Or has the compressed charge started to deteriorate by that point?

If you have one for sale let me know please, I have some 3/4 wraps I dislike and a full wrap that I am pretty sure is aftermarket and a bit beat up.
I recently picked up an all original redlight with 3/4 wrap but haven't even pulled the cord yet, supposedly all good.

Try a Webber Custom or a Pro Safety wrap. Both are beefy.

I got that one from Young ,that lives by Randy ,he told me canadian saws came with them ,not sure where he got it from ,it has the real close angles as the new 660 3/4 wraps ,i hate the old flat top and 066 bubbletop wraps ,saw handles horribly in my opinion with them .

I think the one I have is a pro safety it is on the piper and pretty beat up.
I have seen the Weber site but I may be too cheap.
I need one or two OEM to measure and cut up for a project.
