I noticed that the chassis flexed a lot on one of my new acquisitions when I was cutting today image.jpg The buffer listed as 15,16,17 is torn in half on the 036 I picked up. Are aftermarket (farmtec) ones ok? Also The manual suggests they should all be replaced at the same time. Is that necessary even if the others seem decent?

Having never replaced them before, is this a fairly easy job?

Pat,
I've only heard great things about FT annular buffers. I don't think it would be a problem replacing only 1 of them. Take the chain catcher off, and, noting the orientation of the plug behind it, pry out the white plastic plug with a flat screwdriver. Remove the screw inside that goes through the buffer and into the front of the tank handle. Once the screw is removed, you can pry the old av out. They're hollow...easy peasy

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I was hoping to only do that one since it looks more involved to do the one on the opposite side. I'll have to place my order with our friend @Definitive Dave tomorrow. He's much faster and far more of a stand up guy than any of the local dealerships.
