The auto oiler check will be tar in that.
A Poulan/Husqvarna duckbill fits fine.

The check is the 90 degree fitting just forward of the bar oil fill cap.

Pull out the brass sleeve in the center of the pipe thread end with a #10-24 tap or self tapping screw.

Just for general info that orange saw probably is a Lombard 4.2 but of later design because of the auto oiler and compression release .However that design was from Homelite and copied by many including Remington and Poulan .The Remington Pl-4 and Pl-5 are very similar .
Conversation has continued for years as to who actually came out with the basic design and the size ranges goes from about 2 cubic inches up to about 5 cubic inches .One thing they all have in common is they are loud .

These envelpoes were in some nos parts i bought. They say remington and theres a chain repair kit so i'm guessing its all saw stuff. 0723171837.jpg 0723171817b.jpg 0723171814.jpg needle bearings part number 60582-A. 0723171815.jpg0723171834.jpgtheres some small o-rings, another connecting rod and a rubber washer with a kinda oblong center hole. Its all for sale if anyone is interested. Thanks

Measure the pitch on the chain kit.

If it is 7/16" or 9/16" I may be interested.
