Finished a pile that was dumped out at Lefty's place today. Should have gotten to it a year or two ago as the maple is past prime.

@Wood Doctor Got a locust score. Went with him to use my lift and get the big stuff. Not happy times when we got there and someone else was loading it. We got a little less than half of the trunk.
We actually lost about half the tree that the tree removal company had promised to me. Two truckloads disappeared in the night after the company had nicely cut the rounds to firewood length. The poachers came back for more. Rather frustrating to say the least. But, at least it was not a total loss.

Help w/ a smile! Haven't had that in quite a few moons! You gonna make DW's gtg in May?
I tried to make it fun. Little sis was sitting in the cab of the truck pouting for most of the afternoon, but the rest of us made the best of it. I told them all I don't need them to be fast, but they just had to work steady.

I'll have to see what life brings me, but hopefully I can be there. I'll have to look in the gtg folder, I haven't been looking lately.

I was feeling sorry for myself as I have run out of easy stuff to cut but have 3 other properties. The I checked on the other log landing on this spot and found this 2 days ago:

Getting a pretty good amount before the snow flies. The last pic is the start of the season in late October.20211221_133102.jpg 20211221_133125.jpg 20211210_131502.jpg DSCF0002.JPG

I would like to see that thing work in person. Looks like an amazing splitter.

Thanks for the kind words. The builder is a true craftsman. The welding, (pulse MIG) is the best I have ever seen on anything. There are a whole bunch of features that aren't obvious from pics.
i.e.
Dump valve
auto cycle
suspension frame
folding tongue
folding log table
AR400 on knives
Hydraulic system and diffuser in baffled tank

sounds like a gtg is needed at your place. I’m about an hour and a half from you.

then why do you have such a great splitter if you are practically in town?

I like nice things. I think it is a real nice splitter.

You asked about a GTG, and that wouldn't fit in with my neighbors. Plus I still split more wood than most. The pics are this years progress and I am far from done collecting yet.

This is what I shoot for, 4' high, 4 rows deep and 150' long. If you can't see your wood pile from outer space, you aren't working hard enough.

Last years and a normal amount:
