No glory trees on this project but plenty of firewood

Got a nice little load of pirate roadside wood. 18-20" diameter for most of the rounds.
What do you think it is? Black Cherry, Black Birch, or hybrid?
I cut up to the poison ivy vine on that stick. I may go back and get the rest. Saw ran out of gas...lol

Yes it is and thanks for the welcome. I try to keep it nice and tidy there but when lots of wood comes in, its chaos.

No leaves but all the leaves on the ground looked more towards sugar/Norway. There were no long finger leaves like silver maple there.

Uteload of wood from a mate who was going to take it to the tip. Some is a bit rotten, and random lengths, but it was free so why not.

My son and I went to help one of my guys take down this mesquite. It was only 90 today. Dig the ole guy’s rope chucker. Nice when you can drop it all right on the trailer. Maybe make something or get some $ out of that little butt log.

Did a little storm cleanup today!
A mix of walnut, hackberry, and pin oak...a couple pieces of random wood.
On 2nd thought that may be beech instead of hackberry...???

Yep...we were blessed. Yet, this time was too close for comfort brother!!
When we went to the Municipal Hall for shelter they were closed. The Police department is attached and they swiftly ushered us into the bowels of a tiny jail cell along with other families.

About 3 minutes in, a female officer screamed out like a cougar, "OMG its HOOVERING right over US...WE'REALL GONERS@!!!"

Now we have several designated shelters earmarked for next time.

BTW...What do these pieces of wood look like to you??

The top one looks like Black Walnut to me the bottom maybe Littleleaf Lindenwood, we don’t have Beech around here so it may be Beech.
