What, no pics? :hum:
Getting dark early this time of year. Not good for pictures. Been sorting logs in the dark to make room. Been texting friends with boilers to give wood away. Even giving away bucked rounds. Easy to buck with hydraulic saw.

We bought a farm recently and I noticed there were two big oak trees that had a ton of locust posts leaning up around them. They are being used for firewood in the OWB now.

The pile in the pictures is about 15-17 feet long, up to my waist and the posts average about 8 foot or so. There is a pile not in the picture that I have cut and I have a lot more posts to bring up to add to the pile.

Scored this in the way back 40 of where I cut. Had to drive through the timber a ways to get to it, but glad I got to it this year, for next year's supply. I think it's red oak. I've cut a few of these on the land owner's property and they seem to rot fairly quickly, which is why this one went down. Only got 1 branch of it cut and split for the day. The rest is for another day. Brought a piece home, and it was around the 22-25% on the moisture meter, which I was surprised with. Should be ready to go by next year. Spring time it will get moved from the timber to outside my shed to get some sun and breeze on it.

Lady from FB was going to burn or bury this oak!
Glad I intervened.
This wood was hard, heavy, and rather burly.
At least 2-3 more loads, not counting a huge pile of arm sized limbs!
The 044 sure earned her keep today, too bad I left all my files at the house!:buitre:
