Well I didn't technically score this wood, but I split it all for my Dad and Uncle this weekend, and did some for his neighbor as well. Put 10 hours on the splitter this weekend. Next weekend is reserved for myself.........need one more load for this winter, and then it's on to cutting and splitting for next year. Forgot to get the final pic of the pile after the second day. Was in a hurry to get some lunch and get the rest done and be done for the day.

Just getting started.

Some big pieces, but was getting tired and wanted to just get it done.

So went back out in the timber again this weekend, and tackled a nice, big red elm. Hoping it's the last one needed to fill the basement, but still have to split it yet. Just got it cut up and on the trailer and decided to split it at home. I also grabbed a Ranger full and a cart full of some maple I split this spring, for those warmer days where it's chilly in the house and you just need a small fire to take the chill out. Might go back for another load, as it's better to have and not need then to need and not have in the house.

Member @Gravitas sent me a Craigslist add for some firewood local to me. I got a nice score. You can’t see it but the bottom is all larger oak rounds. Guy said to me when I got there “ can you take big stuff? A couple people showed up with pickups and are only taking the limbs”, lol.
Good day.

Had a lot of rot in it, but still many good pieces. Was a lot more there than I though. Was perfect day for it, around 50 with a good breeze. I'm still sore from moving the pieces around! Ugg! It should be good and ready for next winter though. :)

Guy at work told me he had cleared a big section of woods at his house and had a big pile of 12ft long logs he needed to get rid of. Asked me if I wanted them. Even told me he would load them for me with his tractor. Was mostly ash trees that had died. So he filled this trailer up 4 times with logs stacked above the top of the gooseneck! Cha-ching!!!!IMG_0088.JPG

This is the trailer I was using! (Photo from 2 years ago...14'x7' dumper) We got about 12 ricks of wood from those logs!
