Got me this nice 154SG recently, so sharing a couple pics. Nice shape and the heat works. (never sure how that is going to play out) I'll run a couple tanks through it this winter, but this will be a semi shelf queen.

Also got these two in the same haul. 242XPG and 444SG. Yeah, I know the gray top doesn't belong on the 242, but it was laying around when I built the saw. I have a new top that will take it's place. The 444G is a little rough looking but it runs real strong. Cleaned it up and put a ring in it, but kept it stock. 242 got the Farmer Jones mod treatment. No gasket, muff mod and cut the skirt .030. I spy a "G" on that 242 side case there Sir .. Take it there is a generator in the saw ? The 242 is getting really rather scarce over in UK and the "G" even more so !

Yes it is; all 3 saws are G models.

Rare here as well. Additionally, what puts the 242 in it's own category, is that it's never really been replaced. The 543 falls short IMO, and the 346 and 550 are 50cc class saws and not really comparable models. The 242 does have a core of pro guys that want me to keep them going for them. But you can only go down that road so far, and it's becoming more difficult as the parts are drying up.

I know you're all for "right and proper", but that grey cover looks sweet

Yeah, I kind of agree Kevin. Probably why I haven't changed it yet. Plus I don't have a gray top on that chassis and it looks different than my other two 242's. Maybe it'll stay there for a while yet. :)

I have a nightmare with clutch drums on the 42 ..242. I seem to always end up with the saws that need the little up stands on the ends that drive the oil pump. Last one i got came from the US ,but as you will know ..postage is not cheep across the world. Spent a while with a 242 xp in my own hands softwood harvesting when they were the front line little saw ..always enjoyed them. I like the 45cc OE 346 much more than the 543 as a overall package but i do know from watching Walts and your vids that he runs one for walk up hedge work. I use the 40 cc class for that myself so lament the pro Husqvarna 40 class saws demise. That 154 se G is a Very rare beast ! Here.

Nice score Bob, NEVER see any G models down here, or a 444, at all, ever. Were they ever imported to the States?

There was a whole family of saws on the 444 chassis; most if not all came to the US. 444 was the top dog, but the 44 was the most common. 44's came in both white and then gray top models. The 444 family preceded the 242 family, but there was a period of overlap. Basically the 44 hung around while the new chassis became the pro models starting with the 133SE. The open port 42 gray top and then the 42 special kind of made the 44 a lame duck, so it was finally discontinued.

Funny that there's some interest here, cause Walt and I are going to do a video on these two families. Maybe this Saturday. Interesting story with about a half dozen models on each chassis. That 444 runs real sweet. :)

Wow, quite a trifecta, what are the chances of finding those three in one score.
Been looking for a 444 for years, have come very close but no luck so far.
Most I've seen came out of eastern Canada, they were very popular in the pecker pole pulp wood industry up there.
44's on the other hand are pretty common here to the point I don't bother picking up more unless it's a deal I can't refuse.

Recently picked up a fairly clean 133SG, first one I've seen around here. I was surprised how long it sat on cl before I had a chance to go get it.

It's not impossible to find one 444SG or 242SG/XPG in Scandinavia, but to find one 154SG is something else, 154SG is really super rare now.
I've seen them, either the price tag has been very wrong or it was in bad condition.

looking forward to see those videos Bob, have to admit that I love those old sweet Huskies.
One of those days I had in mind to take pictures of the inside 133 vs 242

Curious what these weigh...any chance you can scale them? Any way you prefer is fine by me...full of fluids and ready to cut, or empty PHO.

I enjoy the compact saws of yesteryear. Seems the new machines, although strong performers, are getting portly For their displacement.

Your guys should try to grab some of those old small Huskies while they are still around, I've seen @Definitive Dave has started to be interested in Huskies in the past ...... just saying, your guys have limited time left lol

They all came from that dealer buyout that we did last summer. We had a huge pile of dead saws, and these gems were in there. It was fun to be pawing through the pile and finding that extra switch on the saws.

133SG is a great find too. Not many of those out there. :)
