Exhaust has been widen already as you can see in the pic. It’s at 65% of bore, but is pretty much freeporting on the piston skirt on the pto side.

What to do???

I have a Mahle piston I was going to mate with this cylinder, but the meteors skirt is a bit wider. So I ordered one up. Damn things are practically out of stock everywhere...

How much Freeport are we talking about here?

Can’t make a silk purse out of a bad cylinder. That exhaust port is downright fugly.

It’s extremely close to the edge of the Mahle piston. The meteor is .08 wider, so I’ve got at least .040 to the edge using that.
Thoughts?
I’m seeing how this cleans up. If I don’t like it, I have a decomp cyl I’ll do up for Kyle.

Thought you meant on the bottom, then I realized. Tough to Freeport the Ex floor on a 262.

I’ve never built a 262 without a meteor. They run fine with them.

Weigh the meteor vs the Mahle when you get it. The meteors almost always look a lot heavier than they actually are.

I think you figured out the solution.

Most of my grinding on the lowers was to clean up the mess that was there. Gained a little case capacity, which won’t hurt for Kyle. He’s looking for a torquey saw.
