The only running 2 series I have. Just made test cuts with it today. Already love this saw.

242 SG, year 89 week 48. Was probleby Anniversary model.
Trew in a bunch new parts, removed the gasket and port it. MM, advanced timing, airfilter modd.
Plan was to use one of my rebuild 346 carbs but it didn't work out well so I installed the OEM carb again, and it worked fine

Ran a tank and half thru my @rattler 288 yesterday evening bucking some good sized oak. I would highly recommend his 288's. Saw has awesome low end torque and pulls hard at higher rpms. More than I expected for sure.

625 with a 268 conversion.

Like was said, I think 266 will fit but not 268/272. I need to do some research.

266 sounds to be a good plan Chris, I would like If it was my saw to keep the white cover on.

Yes, I can imagine.

I will be keeping the white top somehow, I like it too. I'll have to hunt up some parts as I don't think I have a 266 top end here.

Update feb,26 2017
i contacted the seller after i received this saw and made post.
he told me the original owner cut 1 log and then put in storage,then he got it and sold it to me.
all i can saw is WOW,glad i snagged this one.
