Those high output 1/5 scale rc car engines are cnc ported. At least from the most prominent porter in the business. OBR. They have multiple dynos and a flow benches. 12 hp from a case reed 47 cc engine on pump gas is one of their offerings.
id love to see the tooling and setup involved. im sure you could figure out the intake and exhaust on "most" saws, but i cant see something getting in closed transfer ports.

I just wonder why Echo likes using transfer tunnel inserts.
From manufacturing standpoint of view, its easy and cost effective to use insert then to cast something and create a tight space. I think, ejector pin that comes out the mould will be too narrow and thin thus might risk getting broken or damaged

036/044 hybrid cylinder
I didn't do to much to it, just widened the exhaust, squared up the intake, took some off the piston skirts and trimmed up the fins so the top cover would fit. Timing numbers ended up being, EX 109, TR 128 and IN 76. I'm surprised that the exhaust is so low, anyone know what the stock slant fin 044 timing numbers are?
