Most of the big bore kits don't run as strong as stock. There are a few exceptions.

Most of the impressive 660s, and 460s I've seen have been ported, but I've seen a lot of non ported 044s that run darn good, and I like my 440 also. I've also seen a good number of 440s that did not impress me.

I think every now and then you get lucky and find a saw that was ported nice from the factory. Likely applies to every make and every model.

How many rpm's can you squeeze out of that cylinder.?
Chances are the stroke was not the limiting factor.

Chances are the stroke was not the limiting factor.

The configuration of that particular cylinder makes it hard to pull that much more chain speed.
