What type of recyclable plastic jug makes for the best gas jug? Gallon milk jugs, Orange juice jugs, Soda bottles, etc?
I tried some plastic jugs, but the fuel seems to make the plastic softer and shrink up, even with the jug vented.

The oil jugs work well, except all that I have tried don't pour fuel very well. When I try to pour slowly and carefully it seems to run back down the hug onto the workbench, tailgate, etc.

Very good point on the poor pouring ability.

I seem to spill a lot of gas from my 5 gallon can of VP fuel when full. I am going to try a hand pump next time into a gallon jug.
I do have regular fuel cans made of the traditional red plastic, but was interested in mixing a few different batches of different 2 stroke oils for trial.

The gallon jugs work great for taking along extra fuel mix. Then I pour them into my regular jug with spout.

I use odd sized glass jars and mix a quart or pint at a time to do that. Coleman fuel jug they say fits the gallon VP jugs.

No spill with this at all.

I use a Shell engine oil canister, it has a window and a very narrow neck - rarely ever spill any fuel pouring.
