Yep if you have dull faded plastics before dye you will have dull plastics after you dye. Sanding can make them more even and smoother.

you could probably make them shiny if you buffed them after the wax. i like flat black. a while back when i was spending money on my golf cart i painted it flat black and flat tan but it came out glossy after i did the rubbing compound and wax.20131128_135044.jpg

Synthetic Rit dye worked fine on this saw. Orange to black in about 20 minutes, but left them in 45 minutes. @Ronie has done many saws.IMG_20211216_114755416.jpg IMG_20211216_114718968.jpg

I have done several of them, an all black, all blue, all red, and blue and black custom colored one, a green one w black covers. The all blue one was the hardest I have ever done to get the top covers really close to oem blue.
