Grinding the exhaust port corners? Seems ot can be widen a bit without messing the timing.

Let's strip this thing and see what's underneath it's skin....



A look down the inlet toward the cylinder. You can just make out the injector outlet just before the cylinder...


Two fuel tubes...fly side is input from the tank and the other is for the primer bulb.

Here it is all disassembled. Well, to the short block at least.


This plastic flange hides the fourth screw that attaches the intake to the cylinder. Necessary to remove it first to remove the intake.
Also it provides the only clamping pressure for the intake boot.

Still waiting for my machinist to work on my cyl (squish cut), he had a bad tonsilitis last week... I'm sitting on pins and needles

It seemed to gain a bit with the muffler mod. I went very conservative just to see how it would respond.

Outlet was enlarged about 30%.

i checked the cut times by fps

1. cut MS500i 8,56 sec
2. cut 79er 6,53 sec

second vid 500i muffler modded

1. cut MS500i 6,86 sec
2. cut MS500i 6,63 sec

about ~ 22% gain

how much break in time you had between the cuts?

Awesome Steph. I appreciate you taking the time to check. There's only about 1/2 tank burned since the previous video. Decent gains for a minor mod.

Time to look at some numbers...




Impossible to get the degree wheel set without pulling the flywheel. The generator in this thing has magnets about every 20* so the flywheel will only stay put in 20* increments.
