As overbuilt as the bottom end is, I believe they will put a bigger jug n slug on it at some point.

We're almost guaranteed to see a 50mm version of it during it's run. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually introduced a dressed up 52mm version named the 582 or 583 to go head to head with the 500i.

Another round of mods...it may have gained a bit.

Gasket delete, opened the muffler some more and widened the exhaust port a bit.

It's at .020 right now, Ed. It needed a little adjusting to get it there. I took .005 out of the band.

Ahh, makes sense now. I thought I had read it was at .026 or so with a gasket and that had me wondering how thin the gasket actually was!

Hey Dan, was the band nice and flat? Or did it seem kind of tapered before you took a wee bit out? Cant tell if my eyes deceive me from the jug pics or?

Only about 3/16" or less near the cylinders walls was flat. It tapers off pretty quickly into the combustion chamber.

Yes, it seemed very narrow!

Just got home and have to do some updates and load videos. I think this 500i is ripping along...

I went backwards a little yesterday. Note: it doesn't seem to like timing advance.

The FI compensates and the saw runs well, but it lost a second in the cut.

Saw is running way cooler after the muffler mods.
