I have no doubt there will continue to be well aimed projectiles on unsuspecting game.... foreign or domestic. [emoji16]Luckily, at her age, the brain will adapt. I have seen several craftsman work seamlessly missing more that she is missing.
Please, don't anyone think my comment is diminishing the seriousness of what happened to her, just that I believe she will learn to seamlessly work around it.
She will either learn to pull the trigger with a different part of the finger, or use the next finger. Either way, it will work.
