Thanks guys, I'm glad this forum exists as an example of what an online community should be like.20231016_190832.jpgone of my best friends , was killed in August, from a tractor trailer accident at work and it really floored me. Definitely put Steve's family at the forefront of my mind.

I just saw some dude insult some dude asking for help on another forum, reminding me why I originally left.

What is it with the old experienced blue collar guys (that’s not an insult, I’m blue collar) thinking being old and knowing something give them the right to be * ? I mean yeah, insecure, need to feel better about themselves, blah blah, but really? It’s ridiculous the amount of hazing a newb has to put up with to gain some knowledge.

Rant for the day off. Sorry,

Point was, yeah, good forum here gents.

There are quite a few experienced douche bags David. They are usually insecure about there own position, hence the hazing and reluctance to share, but there are good experienced people that share everything. Most of us do it to piss off the the info hoarders. I go out of my way to help people coming into my industry, with the caveat that they are required to pay it forward. Everytime you create a good person, it multiplies. I had a great mentor, and am trying to live up to his example. Don't get discouraged, just disassociate yourself from the bad ones.

The above is a hedge haft I had started for a boys axe a long time ago and messed it up at the time near the head end
I trimmed it down and rough profiled it on the band saw and then finished the profile with a finishing farriers rasp.

I saw a lot
