Shewwww it’s hot! My son had a two day 7 on 7 tournament the past two days in 90+ degree heat and full sun was rough on them and us! We took 12 kids and were the smallest team there. We did pretty well considering…

Good morning.

Cats and chickens are fed, second cup of coffee while I wait for the ibuprofen to kick in. It's already a sauna here. Hopefully i can find something to do that doesn't involve getting dressed and going outside.

My Dad had his appointment yesterday with the oncologist. The type of cancer he has is a particularly bad one. He said there's over a 50% chance of it returning even if they cure the current tumor.
Surgery may not be an option due to his age and other health issues. They would essentially remove his esophagus and connect his stomach without it. He would have to learn to eat and obviously change diet, lifestyle. It's been forwarded to the surgical group and waiting on what they think.
Radiation and chemotherapy are pretty much a given. That is if he decides to do it. That stuff can tear you up just as bad as doing nothing.
I don't know where his mindset is at right now. If he plans to say fųćk it and just keep going, go with the treatment or what. I'll support him in whatever he decides. He's already been through so much šhįt.
1 week from today we will be arriving in Cody WY, looking forward to it.

Sorry to hear this about your father. You have the right attitude for whatever decisions he makes. That's about all you can do. I will give you this caution though if he does decide to let it take its course, the end isn't very pretty and there will come a time where he won't want you to see him and you won't either, this is the time to say your goodbyes.
I truly hate this for you and your family; may you all have it in yourselves to stay strong throughout my friend.

I should really be out mowing but the air quality is really unfit for anyone to be out there.
I reckon so...

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an Air
Quality Advisory for the following counties: Adams, Ashland,
Barron, Bayfield, Brown, Buffalo, Burnett, Calumet, Chippewa,
Clark, Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Door, Douglas, Dunn, Eau
Claire, Florence, Fond du Lac, Forest, Grant, Green, Green Lake,
Iowa, Iron, Jackson, Jefferson, Juneau, Kenosha, Kewaunee, La
Crosse, Lafayette, Langlade, Lincoln, Manitowoc, Marathon,
Marinette, Marquette, Menominee, Milwaukee, Monroe, Oconto,
Oneida, Outagamie, Ozaukee, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Portage, Price,
Racine, Richland, Rock, Rusk, Sauk, Sawyer, Shawano, Sheboygan,
St. Croix, Taylor, Trempealeau, Vernon, Vilas, Walworth,
Washburn, Washington, Waukesha, Waupaca, Waushara, Winnebago,
Wood.

WHAT...The PM2.5 AQI is expected to reach the Unhealthy for
Sensitive Groups (USG) to Unhealthy level.

WHERE...Statewide

WHEN...Now through 12:00 PM CDT Monday July 14th

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:
Sensitive groups: Consider rescheduling or moving all activities
inside. Go inside if you have symptoms. People with asthma:
Follow your asthma action plan and keep quick-relief medicine
handy. People with heart disease: Symptoms such as palpitations,
shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue may indicate a serious
problem. If you have any of these, contact your health care
provider. Everyone else: Keep outdoor activities shorter and less
intense. Go inside if you have symptoms.

Additional Details:
Canadian wildfire smoke will impact all of Wisconsin throughout
the weekend. Initial impacts are expected to reach central
Wisconsin by early this afternoon, and southeastern Wisconsin by
late evening. The heaviest smoke is anticipated for locations
farther north, with periods of Very Unhealthy NowCast AQI
possible. USG to Unhealthy AQI will be more likely for central and
southeastern Wisconsin. The lowest concentrations are expected
across southwestern Wisconsin, where Moderate to USG AQI is more
likely. By Sunday, PM2.5 concentrations will be generally lower.
However, USG to Unhealthy AQI will remain possible statewide, with
higher concentrations more likely to the north.

For more information on current air quality, please see:

I hope your father makes the decision that is best for him and that he gets good treatment and that he does well, Ed
It's not easy, a major surgery with changes in diet and basically for the rest of his life, or a treatment with chemotherapy and radiation.

Cancer sucks
