I have a spare coil and carburetor from 2014 that also comes from a 560 saw, and have updated software, carb reset.
It could also be the salvation today.

I would prefer to have the new one, but just as important to find a good solution.

Besides the 560, I will work a little more with the 234SG, and 357XPW.
234 gets a cylinder (hopefully piston is included) on Tuesday, the only thing missing for it is a gasket, air filter, carburetor HDA 12.
The only thing missing for the 357XPW is a meteor piston.
357 is the replacement for 254/262 at my place, I think it is a better saw.

On Monday I get a 242xpg in the mail, I thought it looked like a Gilardoni marking, but not sure until I get it.
I spent 5-6 years getting my first and only 242 with 241B cylinder, a friend of mine kept asking me to buy it, I gave it to him as a gift.
Later when he had his usual daily dose of alcohol, he traded it away for another chainsaw. I'm bitter, but that's life, positive and negative.
If this one has a 241B, I'll keep it for myself.
Not sure if you have been inside a 5 series carburetor or not, it's the same as any other Walbro on the inside and can be rebuilt as such. Unless however, it is of the newer ones with spiral diaphragms in it, which shouldn't be in need of replacement, concentrate on the fuel pump side. Other issues are the inlet screens and warped covers, if encountered replace new forever gasket with old style paper gasket it will swell up to make up the difference when new covers are hard to get sometimes. Pressure test the fuel delivery side and a light vacuum test on the primer side with the fuel delivery side closed off.

Got started on the Great Shed Cleanup yesterday and made real progress today. A lot of cruft that's been taking up space for ten years is getting kicked to the curb. And I can see my bench! I feel like an archeologist: "After excavating several layers of sediment, we came across a large flat surface. It was probably an altar of some sort..."

Thanks a lot for the good tips Steve.
This 560 has been stored with eco-friendly gasoline for 5-6 years, that could be the reason, but it should have happened earlier. Anyway, it's a 2017 model.
But I'm going to do the pressure and vacuum that you're talking about, eliminate what can be eliminated.
And then I'll give it a new start and let it idle for a while.
If that doesn't work, I'll install the other coil and carburetor, it might be good to test drive the set when I first have to experiment.

I started the day by taking a break from the 560, installing some small stuff on the 357, and going to find 238 coils for the 234.
At least they are chainsaws that are trouble free lol

Good Morning/ Evening All. Woke up and saw some blue sky and was hopeful for a less smoky day. Didn’t dare start mowing as the rest of the family was still sleeping, and may have missed my chance. I look about at grey now and will likely be mowing in the smoke later.

Evening fellers. Didn’t really set the world on fire today. Washed vehicles and got the seat belt bypass installed in the Pioneer.

The kid sold his old XR today and we had to scramble to get the carb cleaned before the buyer arrived. Farkin thing ran perfect a week ago.

The old orange Harley lost a fuel pump the day someone was coming to look at it. And to think it only had 84,000 miles on it.
