Tree Stand and sap questions. Mostly a City idiot, at this point in my existence.
I got a feeling the danged rosin will still ooze a bit. Grew up in the edges of where they were pretty opportunistic, 2nd growth plants.
My question is , what about a trash bag wrapped around the tree and covered with a burlap sack? Tie it with bailing twine so that it rots away over time rather than cutting into the tree.
Eventual cleanup of some trash of course as it degrades over time.

That said. Does stuff like this tend screw with animal activities and mess up the hunting spot? If so, for how long would ya expect?
Then is something like this ok with any wildlife/hunting regulations or just simply prevailing norms in the area?

It will fully heal and quit oozing sap eventually. I'm just trying to expedite the process.
Archery season doesn't start until mid/late September here, so the deer won't give a shįť by then, if they even do now.

Speaking of cutting pine. Anyone else get to flush cut pine trees outta the yard as a kid?
Mom, Sis and myself on a shiny chromed Craftsman bow saw. That twangy sound from the blade. Two of us working the saw while the other one kept kerosene swabbed on the blade. Steel Peanut can and an old trim painting brush.
Mid 70's, Mom got tired of the bow saw and bought a Echo cs302. Deafening little thing.
Mom and Sis are gone now, the bow saw is probably still in the attic somewhere.
The Echo is on a shelf in the shed. Likely all of the hoses are like a string of chewing gum now. I liked the flex of Echo lines, but danged if they didn't turn into nasty goo when they got old.

I might be the only one, but is your handle "ledge limber" or "leg de-limber"?

Leg de-limber.
I concocted that moniker due to a moment with a hatchet, in my youth.
Probably 6~8 years old. Memories are fading on me these days.
I got my hands on the hatchet one day and decided to knock some limb/knots off of a waist high (to me) stump.
One of the knots was pretty weak and when I swung the hatchet, the stub gave way and the follow through of my swing resulted in a bit of a nick on my leg.
A bit of methyalte or whatever the proper name is. Leg was fine.
Can't even remember which leg now.

For some reason, back when I signed up at Arboristsite, that old moment just popped in mind for a user name. tongue-n-cheek. Gave me a bit of a chuckle at the time

Good morning folks. It was 27f near sun-up "time", and it's very overcast, claimed high of 39f. Breeze is slacking this morning as both flags, and roof exhaust seem to have a very limited bit of movement, at least so far this morning.

I was curious about the name, as well. Never could decide which way to read it. I'll remember now - thanks for the story!

Looks like a Shag Bark Hickory fked a Cedar.
For some reason , Your comment brought an old joke back to my mind:
Drunk gets on the elevator and an AVON lady is already on and blushes then confesses to tooting before he got on. She says " Tis the Christmas season and I happen to have some evergreen aromatic PERFUME. She gives a spray and says "SMELLS BETTER NOW doesn't it ?"
Being unsober he jest says "Now it smells like somebody CRAPPED a Christmas TREE".
BET'CHYa'LL saw that one coming But I met my Truett's quota for the MAWNIN.
I happened onto some UTube videos of GENE TRACY Truck Stop Tapes The other day. I will try to Behave.

Mornin'
Never was any kind of prince fan but this was amazing
Reminds me of my friend jamie wanted to learn to play electric guitar and bass for metal music.
I took him to my friends the hill breed bluegrass band
Just absolute horrific music in my mind.
But they listened to several metal songs like black magic and raining blood from slayer and prowler from iron maiden
And absolutely nailed every song we were completely blown away.
They taught him a lot and went right back to bluegrass crap

Nieces husband really *f-worded himself up
On his 350x
I made this last spring 1000443-820d2fafb07aecdf9cf51b9c00c750d5.jpeg
He wrecked his yesterday and broke 7 ribs
And collapsed and lung he's all *f-worded up in extreme pain with injuries everywhere
The life flighted him to a larger hospital and gave him a epidural for pain.
That god damn 350x was given to me when my brother in law died he'd had it since new in 1986
I said *f-word no burn that deathtrap
And gave it to him.

There's some really good documentaries on those old Honda 3 wheelers.
