God bless you Nic for that.
Wish I could do more.
Same story. My Gradfather and dad didnt talk about what they did much at all.
I only learned about where my grandfather served through a veterans day testimonial at church, and from some late night confessions from my dad.
He was stationed in the mountains of Vietnam at a place called Tuy Hoa.
He was with the 3320th CEG.
They built hangars for aircraft and landing strips.
He worked construction during the day, and went on patrol at night.
I mainly remember him telling me how bad it was for the folks that lived there. Kids starving in the streets, but they couldnt help them, because they would try to kill them.
Pretty fugged up situation.
I heard some pretty similar things from my uncle after him and I were having some beers together. He said in Vietnam a woman handed her baby to one of his friends and said help my baby and the baby had a bomb strapped to it and blew him up. Those people weren’t human. Pure evil :(

Came up short sorry lads. :(
Played the only side to beat us this week. Nil all after the 60, so went to penalty kicks. Got mine, but we ended up losing 4-6.
Really appreciate your support this week lads.
I'm retired as of now.

That was a good rain y’all got. Everything around these parts got a good soaking just not in downpour fashion.
We got right at 2 inches. And no runoff. Ground sucked it all up. We too needed it. Might get some more this morning.

Good morning to all.

As to serving or not serving, none of that matters. The ones sending others off to war should be sending their kids also, but they rarely do.

Hope the deer hunters have success and all the trees fall right for everyone today!
Had an 8" pine I was cutting for the goats yesterday, wanted to lean the wrong way, set my wedge continued my cut to the hinge. Would not go the way I wanted. Had to push it over with the fel. Looked pretty straight, just didn't want to cooperate.

Pecker pole pines are like that.
I just put a cable on them now, unless they have a pronounced lean or limb load going the way I need them to.

Never heard them called that before. Thanks for adding to my vocabulary! Lol

That size tree is the hardest for me, the smaller and bigger are easy, that just not quite enough room for a wedge and a saw makes it more difficult. Will try to pull them over next time, but I hate being in the falling direction with stuffs.

Try getting a serpentine belt back on with it parked out in the pouring rain smh. Atleast relieved to know that rattle isn’t the timing chain and is the belt tensioner pulley. The idlers are shot too, what a sound that’s making.

Too small to properly steer.
