My old 1970 Dodge W-200 Power Wagon. It had a 413 4V with a 4 speed transmission and never met a gas station it did not like.

What brand are those? I may try to find a NASTY set of meats for Dad's old Z-71 as it's about to become a spare/pasture/muck truck and could use tougher shoes...

To drive a vehicle of those capacity 's would mean taking another driving test in the UK... You are not even allowed to drive those vehicles unloaded .
7.5 ton=16800 lbs UK... No pick up gets that big , you would have a small lorry of 7.5 ton gross. About the biggest trailer you can have is 3.5 ton inc the load.

This was 20, 700(ish)lbs in this condition and perfectly legal by all accounts on a public roadway with a general license.

Another shot of my F-350 weighing roughly 12.5K lbs with the wood. which started out life as a chassis cab. It's an '02 7.3 Powerstroke, 6spd manual and 4x4 with 4:10 gears. I may or may not have had trailers attached which made my gross combined weight push a bit over 26K lbs... Maybe closer to 34K at times... Hell, the truck as it sits is around 9,850lbs fully fueled, w/o me or anyone else in it and an empty bed.

I would love to have a Hilux or Ranger 4x4 diesel that are available almost everywhere else as a daily chore truck, but when we get to doing work, we tend to go big and avoid making several trips, when possible. For example some of my wood is around a 250+km round trip from my house getting roughly 5.07 km/l as a loaded average while pulling a loaded trailer. The advantage here though is that diesel is around 52 cents/liter here currently.

For the record guys don't flame me, but I thought I'd put things in metric conversion to give SIMONDO a UK take on Mid-Western perspective...

I've got nothing against three ball hitches or low trucks - both of mine are the perfect height for my firewood hauling. And, yes, I do use the larger ball from time to time.

There are many advantages to being low. High can be good too. But I wish my other two trucks weren't quite so high:

I'd be concerned about that 1/2 ton hauling that load if it wasn't made from real tornadoes

An old CUCV with the 6.2 diesel yanked out and replaced by a 4bt or 6bt Cummins, or 7.3 IDI would be a hell of a pasture/wood truck. I want to build a 80's Chevy 4x4 for my wife, but She said it has to be manual and it has to have power. She didn't stipulate between a gas V-8 or a Diesel though...

I only parted with it as it cracked the head. I didn't want to invest the $$$ into it, being a 2-wheel drive truck with no A/C or Power Steering. I do miss it though as it was a blast in the mud and snow and got better than 20mpg most of the time.

My dad had an 85 4x4 when I was younger. Before that we always messed with heavy chevys in the woods. That little yota blew my mind and his! It was like Thomas the train lol

STA super traction or power king super traction if the Z71 has a 16'' these are only availble in 7.50-16 and these are bias ply not radials.
you might need to change to different rim to run these they are tall and skinny and the rim can only be 5-6.5 inches wide.

All mine needed was a set of rear overloads and it would've hauled an even better load.
