Ok this is the 1st time ive ever posted. Need some thoughts. Starting to look for a larger saw. Never owned over a 50 cc. Always wanted bigger but no need till now. I would like some thoughts and opions on how big i should go. I would be running a 24 to 28 bar 98% of the time. Also once a year i would run a 36 bar to cut a sturgeon spearing hole though the ice. Dont have a huge budget or preference in brand. Just want relibility and part availibiliy. I like the husky 372 on paper just dont know if its big enough.

Im about 30 min north of milwaukee. Would love to try saws, however this stupid virus has got us shut down. I would also be cutting alot of ash. Stupid beetle killed all my trees. Ive maxed out my little 241 dropping trees.

Good, used/rebuilt 372's are selling in the $400-$450 range everyday. If you find it's not enough saw, you won't have any problem getting your money back out of it. Those 24", 28" and 36" bars will fit the 80-90cc Husky's if you feel you need to go to a bigger saw.

24" bar to me (for hardwoods like I cut) is 70cc territory, 28" for sure 70 or better.

372 is a good choice but I much prefer the 462 (though it'll be a lot more money).
365, 440, 441 etc would be good too.

Sticking with 24" those are what I'd look for.

If thinking a 28 may be what it wears more I'd be looking at a 460, 461 or 7900.

I've never ran a 7900/7910 but one day when I have money again (not at all related to corona) I'm going to have to pick up a 7900.

Just cause i got alot of time on my hands right now. Amazing what happens when all your kids activities get cancelled. What would people reconmend. Find older bigger 288, 066. Or a bit newer and smaller. I would go and find a 372 if i knew it would pull that 36 theough ice. However i did research 288s too. Bigger saw that sound pretty cool. Definitly more weight to tjem though.

Most of the dedicated ice saws I have seen have a grease gun attached to them. The hose usually attaches somewhere/somehow to the clutch cover.
Thats just based off the pics I've seen.
