Oregon bars are usually within 10 bucks or so of the equivalent aftermarket bar... so it only makes sense to spend that little extra for them. .

If that was the case, I would have, but sadly not.

Oregon 288RNDD009 - $132 delivered
Holzfforma 28'' - $55 delivered

Will see how it goes for the 1 tank a year I might use it.

Been using the bar, cut about 4 tanks on it now, no issues. Using their chain too, stretched a fair bit on the first tank, has settled down now.

No idea, they are all blow downs from the big winds early this week. Cutting a heap more tomorrow, has thick knarly bark, some kind of gum tree.

Yes they were, this was another section we cut up today. Mostly using this 28" bar till the chain went dull.

I’ve tried this with a 3” cut off wheel mounted to a router. Worked like crap and dangerous as hell. Don’t be such a cheep ass and buy the correct size.

The issue you had...
don't use a router and use the correct type of wheel then it will work like it's supposed to.Try and cut corners using the wrong type of wheel and it can get dangerous
The old BarShop machines were quite similer

Hard nose bar for the win.
Running heaps of oil if the oiler can deliver it and running a very tight chain sometimes helps with this stuff it's mainly what I cut around here but if you have an oiler that's Miserly in its delivery it's a major problem especially if it's still green .
Hard-nosed bars are getting hard to find.

Stringy can be a pita at times I've locked a few sprocket nose bars up soild over the year's lol

IMHO Oregon made the best hard nose bars. Stihl bars used to be good but that new safety profile nose has ruined them.
I don't recommend anyone use hard nose bar's now days without someone to guide them in the ins and outs of using hard nose bars people seem to really struggle using them now days. I guess it's like mtronic saw's taking over eventually no one will be able to tune a carb saw.

Most my bars are old stock don't know who makes good hard nose bars now days with everything going to China.

A bit loser than sprocket nose chain helps, and let it cool a bit between cuts, and don’t what ever you do tighten it up when it’s hot,

your bend your pto shaft when the chain cools:yikes:
