There is a special EX Pour spout for diesel. Is is twice as big. I empty 5 gallon plastic jug is less than a minute. Fuel flies out...
But you definitely need the vent hole drilled out. I use a rubber valve stem with insides removed.

What he said...

The package comes with 2 caps. Maybe the wrong cap was used?
I have EZ Pour spouts on every plastic gas jug I own. No issues at all.
Yup, the one cap didn't fit at all the other slightly oversized. They have worked before just not on the newest jugs. They are also frustrating because the outlet is so small. I was filling a truck with 35 gallons of gas to get it through the day. The only jugs that didn't leak had the oem caps and spouts. The fastest pouring was 20+ years old using the original pull out spouts and snap vents. Those jugs are deteriorating and their spouts don't fit new cans.

Gotta keep an eye out. Only seen the gas spout around here.

When you say "cap" do you mean the cap that holds the spout to the can or the smaller cap that closes off the spout?

The black and yellow caps that hold the spout on are the standard ones that come in the kit and if that's what won't fit then

there is an optional gray one (middle) that fits some bastard size cans and which they will send you for free if you ask

Might solve your problem

The one that holds it to the can. Wasn't aware of a third size. Good to know. Maybe they should be included in the kit??

I'm going to get one for the last diesel jug I bought. It took 10 minutes to pour 5 gallons on fuel in my tractor. You have to stand on the front tire and hold the jug while it trickles in. The spout on my other jug wouldn't fit it so I had no choice. I'm getting too old to stand on a tire reaching out holding a 40 pound jug of fuel.

Buying a 50 gallon transfer tank was an awesome decision. I really didn't like balancing a full jug of fuel after climbing up on the loader frame to top off the tractor.

Me and the EZ-pour don' get along with it on a Blitz diesel can, tried both the yellow and black adapters and new seals. have been looking for a new can but don't want to pay $40 for a plastic can that sucks. I have to stand on the 3 point to get fuel in the tank on the tractor.

I don’t like the stihl combi can as much cause you can’t see it in the woods cause it’s clear. Just about dropped a tree on it once or twice lol. You can see the husky can cause it’s orange and the scrench/wedge/file holder works better. They both have slick auto stop spouts. In the winter the oil spout takes forever to fill up on both of them because of the thicker oil. But both work good for me for there intended purpose.
