460 was 14.95 lbs and a 576 was 15.4 lbs on my scale before I killed it. 660 was 17 and a 390 was 16.8. Full of fluids a 390 weighs more since it holds more.
My scale shot craps also

Jason, that is why all my 046-460s are ported, it transforms them.

Hi,

i'm not sure whats the deal with this wrap handle. Okay, it looks cool and you feel like a cool US West Coast Faller ... but i will buy a normal one.

If you buy your 461 and 576 with heatet handle, the weight is the same. But, your 044/046 sounds cool. Less weight is always good.

October 2017 the new 462 will be realesed. There was 2 prototyp saws at the forestshools. 73ccm at 6,2kg and 6PS.

Lg

Too bad you're not closer, I'd happily swap with you. Shipping would probably kill the deal, though...

I too would love the OEM's to once again produce 80cc class pro saws. They seam to skip between 70-75cc straight to 90cc. 80-85cc saws can be fairly nimble & weight competitive yet high revving and produce good power. Sadly the market today is small for these saws and money would be faster made redesigning a MS170 or something that get sold by the gozillion. My 681(81cc) Solo is lighter than many 70ish cc saws yet has more power and speed than 90cc saws.

Someone told me they were a fad and scary plus they are loud. Now they transform!! I'd sure like one that would split and stack the wood after I cut it.

Yes I know.
I kinda do this for a living. Lol

My point was that it makes a bigger difference on them than on some other saws. Same with the 660s, most are not real exciting stock. Conversely, you can often wake up a 044/440 quite a bit w/o porting.

I ran a 660 that just had the base cut with a timing bump and a gutted muffler that was miles ahead of a stock one..a 044/440 is no different than any other saw that leaves meat on the bone...it all applies.

A 460 does gain nicely.

The absolute biggest gaining saw I've ported is a 6100 dolmar.
Real stinker stock and incredibly strong ported.
Very easy to port also.

When you delete the base gasket on a 044/440 you usually get close to 20/1000 squish w/o any machine work. You generally can't do that on a 460. So deleting the base gasket gives you more compression, a longer effective power stroke (the distance from TDC to the exhaust port) and increases the intake timing.

This makes it a much easier saw to extract performance from for those of us w/o a machine shop, just sayin.

There may be other similar saws, but there are also a lot of them you can't just delete the gasket and end up with good squish.
