What’s the story on the dolmar?I just wanted to introduce myself. I’m Bryan, a 16 year old from Plainfield, CT. I’ve been working on Chainsaws and other 2 stroke engines for almost a year now. I have a page on Facebook called Connecticut Chainsaws and an Instagram account called 2_stroke_repair. I’m still learning all the time and any input is always welcome!![]()

What’s the story on the dolmar?
Needs a new crank seal but I can’t find one. It’s a Sachs Dolmar 123

Which side?
Do you have the means to pressure / vacuum test it?
@Definitive Dave sells a lovely pressure test/vacuum kit. It isn't cheap, but nothing good isI dont

Also to note, that saw also has a radial seal on the oil pump. Here’s an IPL in case you don’t have it already.
Seals are there with part numbers.
On a saw that age, they should be changed as a matter of maintenance.

There’s a good handful around here. Some are more active than others. I’d say 5-6 are relatively active, while another 5-6 are more sporadic. I could be way off on those numbers, though, but those are the ones who come to mind. LolHow many people here are from CT?

Bryan, talk to your dad about coming to meet me, and bring it. I’ll show you how to diagnose it, and pressure vac test it, then you will know how on your other projects.
Plus I have a few projects I’ll never get to that you can have.
