Welcome Bryan to the site it don't matter what you work on as long as you are wrenching on something you are learning. I guess when I quit learning I will be pushing up daisies. Hang in their buddy. Don't get hung up on one brand they all tear up from time to time.

I say go buy a couple of 100ft rolls of starter cord say 3.5mm & 4.5mm. A few rolls of fuel line in the common sizes USA made ethanol resistant. A compression tester, Wiha chainsaw hand tool kit, a mityvac 8500, a Oregon 511 clone grinder, a bag of Stihl fuel filters and Walbro filters. Sure a well fitted out saw shop has a lot of things in it that you probably cannot afford but the things I mentioned are fairly cheap and will put a lot of OPE back to service. Good luck....just don't let mum find parts in her dishwasher when she goes to unstack it and your future will he bright.
