Both the racing Mobil and the racing Castrol 2t here have red die. Very, very red.
I have used the Castrol one for years. It's purdy cheap as 2t oil goes here for full synth, and doesn't stink.
Seems to burn well enough. At Halfords, the prices are nearly the same for the two.
I noticed the Mobil1 2T at Halfords, but too late, I ordered at micks garage,
then Halfords closed due to covid.
I don’t question the lubrication qualities of Mobil1 2T, I am already questioning
how clean it burns, what I took the muffler off to be gutted I noted a yellow
brown stain on the side of the piston above the ring, never had a discolouration
like this before after so little run time.

If in hot weather and under heavy load, I can imagine the extra heat may burn the oil better. Maybe 40:1 didn’t help either in a small saw.

Now, let's be honest. We're in Ireland. There's no hot weather. ;)
Mick's garage over in, uh, Blue Bell? I think they are open through the lock down as essential?
Mebbe run 45:1 or what have ya. One of the nice advantages of fuel from our pumps being measured in liters, is you can easily adjust the mix on the fly.
I tried 33:1 and found it a bit rich for my ported saws. They are happier and have less deposits at 40:1 with Castrol 2t. It also depends on how you tune the saws as well.
I dunno how the mtronic or huskotune folks get on, tho.
