Do you lot in the states have this on the market I just bought some to try because my regular supply is getting very low and need to find something soon it smells nice smells like a bag of lollies be interested to see how it goes fumes wise .
also interesting absolutely no dye so you're not going to know whether it's mixed with your fuel or not .

@deye223 Total brand oil do a blue dye. 1 litre was $23nzd at my local. At 10ml per litre it'll last forever. Turns red purple, it'll turn clear blue enough.

I use it here in Ireland, and it oddy has a red hue to it, I can
tell its mixed as the fuel I use is very pale / clear.

Have only started with it, so not sure how good or not it is,
am using it in small saw at 40:1, it is not leaving the same amount
of oil on the piston sides as the HusqvqrnqXP or Echo powerblend

I think it would work at 50:1 as it has a good body to it, I found I
had to shake a lot to ensure it was mixed, it lay for three months
and did not separate, it doesnt mix / absorb water,
this is the main reason I use it, it should protect bearings when the saw is laying up, thats my main reason for using it.
Its also the cheapest of the well spoke of oils you can get here, motul
and maxima are more expensive here, Echo Powerblend is cheaper
and runs real clean too but its a semi synthetic oil.

The Mobil1 2T Racing gives off no bad odor that I found.

Just in case someone reading this does not know there are two versions,
the 2t Racing above,
and Mobil 1 2T , note the lack of Racing in the name,
it is not FD rated and is cheaper, the price will alert you alone.

Great oil for a high performance engine. Probably not necessary for a low BMEP engine like a chainsaw that has on and off periods and fan cooling. If you want some extra protection (I recommend a good air filter instead) it will preserve the engine just fine.

I used it for years in air-cooled dirt bikes.

I have been using this stuff for about 8 years

then it became unavailable a long time ago so I bought boxes of the stuff but only have 3 L left and have been looking for a replacement and just found this new stuff that the bloke told me had replaced the red oil only recently .

Good you asked, you prompted me to look, it is actually red oil,
silver bottle with same silver cork, Mobil1 2T Racing.

Looking at the safety sheet, there are ones available for different
regions, so best to check the spec in your area.

It does not state any place of manufacture on the litre bottle I have.

Or the 4lt ones I have
That does seem strange, everything seems to have a place of manufacture
on it, I will source another bottle from a different supplier and see what’s on it.

I see the gold capped bottles are now in stock where I got my all silver bottle.

Both the racing Mobil and the racing Castrol 2t here have red die. Very, very red.
I have used the Castrol one for years. It's purdy cheap as 2t oil goes here for full synth, and doesn't stink.
Seems to burn well enough. At Halfords, the prices are nearly the same for the two.

Yeah, that was in the late 1980s (1988?). I went to the Shell 2T which lubed fine, but didn't burn as well and kept a continuous drool out the pipe. I liked either Mobile or Shell as the bike was street legal and I could pick up the oil at a station on a cross country trip.
