I think she’s pretty.
Sometime in my early 20`s I gave it a crappy rattle can paint job. I know its ugly and I can do much better restoration and paint jobs but I guess its the sentimental feelings that prevent me from doing so.

11 going on 12 , when I turned 13 dad gave me his 600 and I was running it all by myself, sometimes 3 miles from home dropping mostly spruce trees in the 45 to 60' tall range, 20" to 36" on the butt.

Wow, at the time did you think the saw was heavy? Or was it just what you ran?

All saws of that time were heavy so it never entered my thoughts. I could reach up with the 600 and limb a tree at least 8' off the ground and drop the tree in half the time it took two men to drop one with the double bit and a Simonds 5' peg and raker.

Back in the time frame around 1978 -1980 I bought my first chainsaw, a John Deere 50V, which is a rebranded Echo CS-452VL. I still use it and it is in pretty good condition as it has had limited use a homeowner saw. The saw still runs but at times develops a miss. I believe it needs a replacement with a solid state ignition system as original parts are few and far between for this model saw.

More recently I purchased a newer saw, an Echo CS-500P that has had the Mastermind treatment.

First saw I ever ran was Dad's Homie Super 2. I didn't actually own a saw until I was around 24 because I always used Dad's or Grandpa's. I bought a Poulan 2150 from a hardware store for $130.00 or so to use on a hunting lease I had at the time. I put a ton of hours on that thing, and sold it to a relative last year who still uses it today. Next time I see him I think I want to buy it back!
