No shat! 8' is more than enough to kill ya!Wow. A 100' fall ain't no joke. I'm praying hard for that man.
when we built new power plant a iron worker slipped on frost on a tractor trailer bed fell off trailer and his head hit a rock and he died it doesnt take a big fall at all to be dangerous
I am doing very well, I do not do many cattle anymore, just the occasional stuck calf. My partner does a ton more!!!Exactly. How are you doing Pete? I think about you a lot since I started messing with cattle. That can be a dangerous job you have as well my friend.
Just like tree work and anything else, equipment is key, people you can really trust to pack your parachute, and a well thought out plan. I've seen a 800 pound cow jump a 6 foot wall, that is usually not in the game plan. The elk farms we used to have were crazy, they had us doing the herd health checks in October when they were in rut, wouldn't change it either, so we quit. 1-2 elk would die from the stress or trauma out of 80-100 animals.
Attention to detail and maintaining your equipment is so important, can't stress that enough!!!!
Can't even get young vets to take on large animal work. Some of the vet schools are lightening up on the academic prerequisites to attract big Male *s-wordkickers to enter Vet school and concentrate on large animals. My best friend and I were pretty handy with cows so on the rare occasions we needed a Vet they always sent a female and more often than not pregnant.
wondering if was yours ? lol
