Many posts mention Husky fasteners coming loose/falling out. I realise only a portion of the complaints are from first hand experience, many just regurgitate what they read. But I've never read a post where somebody does a damn thing about it, is it really that hard to measure and buy some serrated head fasteners for your hoosky so they stop falling out? My 555/550xp don't drop fasteners but a few bucks could stop a bunch of whaling.

using stihl screws fixes the problem, but those husky guys won't allow it

I have a 550xp and 2-261s that are roached I can use for parts anytime.

Why is it so hard to find parts for those saws ?
Not sure maybe the amount of time theve been in production.verses 026 and 346. Whats wrong with 261s cranks they acctually had issue with the drums wearing out and eating the crankshaft end.the 026 drum is built better and fits even though it has diff. Part number.stihl never would admit they had problem with 261 drums.

I have a 261 that I've had since 2011 that has many many many hours on it and I've had no problems with it at all.

I like finding parts for saws that are 5 years old, not 20 years old.

I've had this 346 since 2010 or so with maintenance items and a set of rings in that time...i took it apart 2 weeks ago for its quarterly bath and polishing...no issues at all..or a lost screw....

I often drool a little when I see a nice 026 for sale on Craigslist, definitely one Stihl I’d like to have. That being said, I’ll be getting another 346 first.

And on to the banter: I’ve NEVER had screws that I tightened properly fall out of my huskies. For those of you that have this issue, maybe you should invest in one of those spring loaded forearm workout thingamajigs so you can build the strength to tighten them properly...you know, like a man. Lol! Just playin guys.

ok so since we have NO direct experience with "FSS" AKA "fallen screw syndrome", I have a few Huskys that will and often do shed weight by tossing some various superfluous appendages.
I can live with a tossed screw or two along the way as it lets me know what general area needs to be "un-huskied" what I don't like is that Husky uses all kinds of different nuts, bolts, screws , attachments and spit to hold their stuff together.
A T27 and some patience and you can rebuild most of a late model Stihl ( 90's up).
and whether its a perception or not my Stihls feel like they will last longer, I don't know why. but I like to run muh Huskys just the same. everyone knows that some tools are built for distance and some for speed, and others just to impress the chicks.

Oh and BTW....you husky heads are stoops. :campeon2:
