That should direct the gas away stumping. Wouldn't work good on a mill though.

Here's what i use to braze.

Those have to be one of the best brazing rods i've used.they flow good with less heat than fluxed brass.i've actually used MAPP gas with these.acetylene has gotten to hard for even farmers to get these days.

This is how I reshape the 266 deflectors

I've been thinking about building a simple jig out of some bar stock to stamp something like this on a press. Gonna try it when I get some time.

I bought five. He sent me six... three large, three small. A little trimming and grinding is all it takes to get em to fit.

Here's what I did on my 394, I cut down two sides of the deflector with a dremel, folded the deflector back temporarily, cut the restrictive funnel out, folded the deflector back into its place, the welded it back. No screws or rivits to loosen or fall out.

Finish off with a coat of barb- q- que black hi-temp paint.

I was doing them like this with a piece of bicycle frame tubing that I found out in the desert. I couldn't resist flaring the end into a trumpet. Looked good and sounds fantastic, but it set the bark on fire in long bucks. I've gone away from this style, or angle them to one side if the "pipes" are wanted.
