Disclaimer:
I am not saying that I can get one of these units, so this is just information being passed on!

From Stihl's 2018 Mini Catalog, local to me currency is Croatian Kuna aka HRK (use Google's currency converter to get an idea how much it'd be in Your currency):
View attachment 130786

As much as a MS661CM , comes with 18" B&C according to the catalog.
Non CM version listed as available too.

I have no idea whether it is actually available though, I was at the Stihl dealer twice this year and I haven't seen one of these units on their sales floor.

FYI, I had good experience with fund transfers from the US to Croatia (Eastern Europe) through Western Union.
Once a certain fund amount is exceeded it isn't even more expensive fee wise than PayPal - so I've been told.
Of course, a certain degree of trust and honesty of parties involved is required to go this route!

FYI number two, I am not able to withdraw funds off my PP account.
I was at my bank twice to resolve the issue and they claim it should work, but it doesn't - PP say's my card isn't set up for withdrawals by my bank.
After the second bank visit and numerous failed attempts to register my card for fund withdrawals on PP I just gave up on the idea altogether.
Sometimes something that should be straight forward and simple isn't as simple as one hoped it to be!

I keep a US bank account for US transactions and registered with PayPal, and I use my EU account for everything local. I had the same sort of problems trying to use my EU accounts. They keep a tight reign on them to watch for taxes. Shoot, I ordered some stuff from Holland and they wouldn't even let me pay with credit card. Had to wire transfer via an EU bank only. Pain in the patella!

i ll talk with my boss maybe i can get our used MS 462.
It is nearly broken in with 50 hours running time and a bit dirt.
And sending it in 2 boxes should solve the problem.
first i have to get the saw, after this we speak about shipping.

/edit: i did some research 76 Euro shipping to the US in 2 boxes or 55 Euro in 1 box.
Google says:
1076 Euro =
1 255,77 USD

MSRP in Germany 1667,75 USD with 16 inch bar/chain. 1730 USD with 20 inch Rollomatic ES Light bar.

ups or fedx would be a good choice , also send in bits, so not to attract more import duty. I think you will find mastermind did this when sending a saw to Ireland

But ask to get it from the horses mouth, so to speak.

I've gone through some excruciatingly painful episodes with EU customs, and finally found a pretty foolproof way to deal with them. UPS, Fedex and DHL are not going to help you, matter of fact, they find extra charges to hit you with. They charge a smaller amount for shipping, but are guaranteed that every package will be customs cleared with documentation. The postal service has worked the best for me. Also, the secret to easily getting a package without extra duties is in the Customs Declaration document. PM me for details.

I've sent a few saws from the US over and one from Russia. All of them made it without extra duties and were fully assembled.

Since this will be going the other way, I've not had any problems getting packages into the US. Again, I always use the postal service.

I can get a hold of an unknown number of these saws from dealers here in Greece, if anyone else is interested. I'm not a dealer, or affiliated with any dealer. Just calling guys that have the saws and seeing what price I can get.

They are the 462C-M version. The cost is currently 1120 Euros PHO (+50 Eu for bar/chain) and about 80 for shipping. Roughly $1400 USD.

PM me if you want me to find you one. Also, have 560 and 572XP Husqvarnas locally.

that just seems a little steep for me:eek:($300 more would get ya a 880 with 42"b/c), but then again if i had the money i probably would just to satisfy my curiosity

Don’t send with dhl, they send my 462 saw back. Reason: dangerous good.

This thread is awesome.

Especially part about people liking to be pissed on.

But at the same time it pissed me off - no pun intended. Why the hell is stihl sitting on this saw in other markets and not offering it on the US? They already have the sunk cost for designing and developing it. Why are they selling it in other countries while keeping the US on yesterday's technology and trying to unload their 441 and 461 inventory?

Welcome and with this first post you'll fit right in!

I hear ya you would think they would want to start selling these in the high volume market to recoup costs. And leave the left overs to the slower areas.

I agree. I was forced into buying a 441R C-M because I couldn't wait for an undisclosed release date for the 462, which as of right now appears to be pushed back well into 2019. I wanted the 462 from the moment I read about it and I would have gladly purchased one had it been available when I was in need of a 70cc saw to finish a project. That said, I have been very happy with my 441, it's met and exceeded all expectations to date.
