Yah ... motomix is an Alkylate fuel which runs 99% cleaner than pump-gas ... lotta nasty fumes are emitted that aren’t very good for your health nor the environment when using pump-gas especially with ported saws ! It ain’t cheap but what price do you put on your health? I’ve also found the added benefit of increased compression using motomix and if carb is dialed in properly everything is clean as a whistle inside ... pricey - yes but I roll the cost into the job ... also it’s nice to pull a saw off the shelf and go cut as the fuel stays potent FAR longer than pump gas ... haven’t had to rebuild/replace a carb or fuel line(s) since I began using it ! I think a lot of people would be surprised at the quality (or lack thereof) coming out of the neighborhood pump ! Ymmv

I m very happy you confirmed my suspicions and thanks for your input

Living in a country where i must pray the Gas Station Owner woke up good and didn’t perform magic to downgrade fuel while i m paying almost 2€ per liter for 100 octane I believe Stihl Mix is the best thing available to planet earth.

Cutting woods at mountains where the Gas Station is like 45km away and staying there for a month plus is another advantage of Stihl Mix.

Also very stable for the morning cold or humid forest to the hotter noon and afternoon cuts.

Since not lucky to permanent live in US so I could try the options mentioned here, STIHL MOTOMIX is my choice

Stihl oil is not great and 50:1 is not a great choice either

I like the Motomix myself ... have enjoyed great results in modded saws right out of the can at 50:1 ... My saws run well using it ... the only drawback is that it is expensive ... unfortunately the gas we get today can be of questionable quality especially the 10%fuels ... sometimes the content can be much higher than 10% ... also fuel is sold by WEIGHT but dispensed in Gallons ... try filling an empty 2 gal can with EXACTLY 1 gal of fuel ... then pour this into a known graduated container ... me thinks you will find a variance in the total amount depending on the season .... Puts a whole new twist to the 32:1 - 50:1 oil ratio debate when viewed thru this perspective .... a gent did a utube video in this very subject ... I will post the link

I can get 100 Ll just as easy as e free here but choose not to run it. None of my saws would hold the same rpm in the cut with it. Ported or not.

Yup that because these little motors dont have a high enough compression ratio to warrant the high octane stuff.

That's because he can't get e free gas where he's at I'd bet. I'm telling you from experience that 100 octane is too much for a saw to completely burn.

I’m unfortunate not to live in US with the variety of material there.

My best option during cutting season between Gas Station at villages and Stihl Mix is Stihl all the way...

Also unfortunate not having a ported or modded saw yet... Performance other than stock is unknown in my country.

Only exemptions are individuals that find forums like this for education and possible get mods from abroad.

The worst fuel i can get is 91 or 93octanes (at least advertised) and hopefully a crook owner would mixed it so it’s gonna be lower than that.

So i ll get 10liters of this low quality and mix it with 40:1 and run it through my M tronics just to check your option. I’ll give it a try soon.

Yah ... the best “mod” is often a sharp chain lol ... that being said a righteous ported saw and a sharp chain WILL outproduce a stock saw with a sharp chain by a considerable amount at the end of the cutting session at the expense of using more fuel ...
