I posted this on AS thinking it was here... doh!

My buddy just found out his wife has breast cancer a couple months ago and is getting way over his head with medical bills. I was talking with his brother and about it and learned he has an ms461 he bought a couple years ago and has like 10 tanks through it. I'd like to sell or auction it off for him and I'll build him a good Saw to replace it. His brother is going to talk to him about it, but I'm pretty sure he will go for it.
What do y'all think? Any ideas?
Dan

Dan, I agree with going with a saw raffle, and a Go Fund Me. IMO, the raffle should generate a lot more $ than a sale or auction.

Just don't allow Marcello to enter the raffle (just kidding, he won 2 saws last year including a 461).

I also hope those 262 parts I gave ya can help somehow.

Best of Luck to them.

Do I need to set up a gofundme for a raffle. I'm not sure I can even set one up without him knowing. He will never agree so I'll need to do this and then present it to him after. When he can't refuse.
I'm not sure the best way to do this.

I do like the inboard clutch setup on my 372 and 385 ... but if the clutch gets hot it puts a lot of heat stress on the seal on that side. The outboard clutch will be more tolerant to abuse I suppose.

Not according to 1122s, 1124s, or the 1128s I'm familiar with.

The best way is to think over your original plan, factor in the plan that you've been chewing over, and decide how deep you actually want to go with this, then pull the trigger and stick with it.
