Wow! I'm very grateful to all of you for wanting to help out my friend. I still need confirmation that he will "sell" his 461.
Hopefully today.

So I didn't sync up w/ Dan today but will soon. This will give Dan some time to see if he can sell the 461.
I fired up the saw again today to see how it does cold starting -- just like any other 262 this time.
One new issue -- when I hit the chain brake it stops the saw. Yet the chain can mostly stop spinning with it idling where it does. I think the clutch spring is really weak -- I've got a spare brand new spring and will install that. This may explain why it seems to take slightly longer than normal for the saw to return to idle after a piss rev. The clutch springs aren't pulling the shoes back and the momentum of the chain keeps things rolling forward... Will take care of that next and see where it's at. Could be the needle bearing needs to be replaced too -- When I unboxed the saw it seemed rough but after a few turns by hand it became easier. Gotta get in there and see what's up. Hopefully the clutch is OK -- looks good visually.

Cheers.

Its those outboard clutch/ sprocket thingys. Lol

I do like the inboard clutch setup on my 372 and 385 ... but if the clutch gets hot it puts a lot of heat stress on the seal on that side. The outboard clutch will be more tolerant to abuse I suppose.
