Hey I went to get a spare air filter for the 462 here in Australia... these are the latest apparently.
Stihl Rep said that the only reason it's white now is that they had a lot of people not realising how dirty the black filters actually were and that resulted in starting issues with some saws. The white filters will make you want to clean them more often.

is that a super slick, almost waterproof fabric? I have something similar for my shop vacuum and it's awesome.

462 looks pretty good all around. But it would take a lot for me to drop the 461 and make the switch. Espeacially giving up some displacement
